No, no – say it ain’t so! Cerys Matthews and Marc Bannerman have ended their relationship – just three months after falling in love on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Apparently, Cerys called the former EastEnder last week and told him she’d come to the end of her tether, following a string of arguments. “The passion fizzled out and they’ve hardly seen each other in the last month,” a friend told the Sunday Mirror. “All the talk of having babies and settling down turned to dust.”
The relationship reportedly hit the skids when Cerys’s ex-husband Seth Riddle came to visit his kids in Wales over Christmas. Marc headed home to London – and plans to buy a house with Cerys were put on hold.
“Cerys has been in Wales and Marc has rarely visited,” the friend continues. “Once she got back to normal life she started to feel embarrassed by the way she’d fallen for Marc on camera. She thought the jungle would be fun – but she feels sheepish about it now.” Baa!
So what next for the star-crossed ex-lovers? Well, Cerys has set off on a UK tour – while Marc is staying with his close friend, novelist Martina Cole, in Kent. “He’s very upset, very down,” his mum told the Sunday Mirror.
Meanwhile, Marc’s ex-girlfriend, Sarah Matravers, has recovered from her very public jilting – and has now hooked up with millionaire TV producer Ian Stewart. Hmmm… it’s funny how things turn out in the end, isn’t it?
